Mark Toro, managing partner of North American Properties, spoke to Council members and guests at Atlantic Station about walkable communities, specifically citing two of his projects: Atlantic Station and Avalon. During his talk, Toro emphasized the importance of attracting young, intelligent professionals to the area through “live, work, play” mentality. Toro has been extremely successful in the endeavor with Atlantic Station quickly becoming the go-to for college students as well as young professionals all over metro Atlanta.
Atlantic Station, convenient to Midtown and downtown Atlanta, boasts accessible parking, stores, restaurants, a movie theater, and several attractions that prove beneficial for a young professional’s demands while also fostering a sense of community.

Toro promises Avalon, located in Alpharetta, will boast much of the same. Avalon will include residential, office, and retail space as well as offer a convenient answer for the out-of-towner: a hotel. The mixed use development will be a one-stop shop for all of metro Atlanta’s.
