POLICY ANALYST

Nature of Work:
Professional level policy, communications and government relations work related to the promotion of balanced and responsible growth. The Policy Analyst work involves responsibility for performing tasks of moderate to high difficulty in the areas of infrastructure, regulatory and planning policy, and industry representation.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Required:
- In-depth knowledge of state and local laws and regulations related to growth and development.
- Proficient in all MS Office Suite, Adobe, contact management systems, Social Media, and GIS data visualization is a plus.
- Skilled in establishing priorities and ability to work independently with general instruction.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills so to comfortably interface with local, regional and national policy makers, as well as corporate executives and community leaders.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Council membership, local, regional and state government, planning organizations, business organizations and strategic industry associations.
- Detail-oriented team player willing to work in a small, interconnected office environment maintaining a positive and constructive attitude.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in public policy, land use planning, real estate, government affairs or business is required. Graduate Degree preferred. Prior experience in real estate development, government and regulatory affairs, city and regional planning, or engineering is preferred.
Compensation:
Based on experience.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

The Membership Development Associate (MDA) plays an integral role in growing the organization by recruiting new companies to join the Council. The development industry is thriving in metro Atlanta, and the MDAs will be able to capitalize on the growing number of developers, engineers, contractors and other firms in the region. This relationship driven position reports to the Director of Membership & Programs, and it is ideal for someone who is self-motivated and highly organized and has sales or relationship development experience. An understanding of metro Atlanta’s development industry and local government policies are a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit new companies to join the Council for Quality Growth
- Account management of new members and responsible for ensuring membership renewal
- Attend Council for Quality Growth events and Advisory Committee Meetings to network with potential and existing members
- Retention efforts to maintain membership
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:
- 3+ years of business to business sales experience
- Ability to develop, build, and manage a pipeline of prospective members
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of the development industry and/or business contacts within the metro Atlanta region
Compensation:
Salary + Commission based on new membership revenue collected.
