The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to keep the five-member planning commission in place on September 13th. Earlier this year, County Commissioner Pete Amos authored a measure that would suspend the planning commission. The county commission voted 3-2 in June to begin the public hearing process on the suspension of the planning commission. Amos argued it would save the county approximately $35,000 a year. No hearings were ever scheduled and the idea was dropped during the work session last week.
