On August 27th, the Council was honored to host our Premier Members at The Warehouse, a contemporary art space showcasing the world-renowned art collection of Mr. John Wieland. Mr. Wieland reflected on his years of homebuilding in Atlanta, recalling the “good old days” when his first building permit cost him less than $30 and the first piece of art he purchased on his honeymoon in Germany. His art collection, now on display on the Upper Westside, features over 400 pieces all centered around the themes of house, home, and domesticity. John Wieland received the Council’s 2006 Four Pillar Award, among dozens of other industry recognitions, and has become one of the most prominent figures in homebuilding in Southeast, with more than 30,000 homes in the JW Home Collection today.
