The Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District heard plans for redevelopment of a 168 acre industrial site at the intersection of Interstate 85 and Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Scott Ball of Duany Plater – Zyberk & Company presented a preliminary vision for redeveloping the OFS site. Officials have expressed interest in a mix of office, residential, retail and industrial uses at the site. CID Director Chuck Warbington said it could take 10-15 years to develop the site and cost $1 billion. Gwinnett Village CID will likely look at doing a full market study and master plan as a next step.
