Water Conservation

On June 2nd, the City Council adopted the new water conservation incentive program. The adopted version is completely voluntary, and contains a new, platinum level. Those buildings who reach the Platinum level will receive a waiver for all building permit fees.

Recommendations on the Sandy Springs water conservation program were presented at the April 21st City Council meeting. Recommendations include a water conservation web page specific to Sandy Springs to be used as a clearing house for water conservation information and to enable a cooperative partnership with Atlanta’s Watershed Department, aan incentive based fee structure to encourage the use of water conservation features for new and existing (retrofit) developments, and a draft model ordinance to encourage water conservation.
