On November 17th, the Milton City Council discussed proposed changes to the City’s variance criteria that will make it more difficult to get a variance. After input from CQG staff and the Milton Planning staff, City Council voted to defer the matter to the second regular City Council meeting in January to allow further work on the ordinance changes. After several minor changes, the changes were adopted by the City Council on Janaury 21st.
New Milton Variance Requirements
On Monday night, the Milton City Council voted 4-3 to approve a revised sewer service map prepared by the City’s Community Development Department. The map is part of an intergovernmental agreement with Fulton Countydefining where sewer service can go in the City of Milton. Because the county provides sewer inside the city limits, the city’s sewer policy has to be consistent with county plans and commitments. City staff may now issue certificates of occupancy and land disturbance permits to properties that were previously not included in the sewer service areas. The adopted sewer service map can be found on the City’s website. http://www.cityofmiltonga.us/
