Milton is considering changes to their Tree Ordinance. The City adopted the County’s Tree Ordinance when the city was formed. A committee, including CQG staff, is working on recommendations on how to customize the ordinance to fit the unique character of the city. The committee has spent a great deal of time on tree removal permits and accompanying processes for both homeowners and new construction.
The proposed changes to the tree ordinance attemt to narrow the variance criteria to allow relief only when visibility is restricted due to structural or foliage hardships. The issue will be discussed on April 27th.
