Hall County voters passed the SPLOST VI. to authorize a continuation of the tax that has been in place since 1985.
According to the Hall County Chamber of Commerce, the SPLOST will fund the following projects:
- $72 million for road improvements and landfill expansion
- Expansion and improvement of health department services
- Extension of sewer infrastructure to support new industry and jobs in North Hall and South Hall
- A new library in North Hall
- More greensapace with community parks and walking trails
- Downtown Gainesville redevelopment
- Municipal redevelopment projects in other areas of the county
- New ambulances and ladder truck
