Smyrna Seeks Public Input to Create 10-Year Vision Plan

The City of Smyrna, in partnership with Market Street Services, is currently creating a ten-year Vision Plan and seeks the comments and ideas of citizens, businesses, and leaders of the community. With the intention to take Smyrna to the next level, City leaders want to ensure the public’s vision is fully realized. Between now and October 2014, the City will be engaging with residents and stakeholders, sharing critical milestones along the way.

Building upon leadership retreats that occurred in 2010 and 2012, the City will incorporate public feedback in order to determine all of Smyrna’s needs and opportunities that will be used to establish the plan. Feedback will be obtained through multiple outlets including focus groups, interviews, an online survey, and social media. The online survey is currently underway, having been launched April 14, and will be active through May 2.

The survey is part of the community assessment phase of the Vision Plan initiative which is the first of three phases. The feedback and information gathered in this first phase will be used in the second phase to create the over-arching goals, clear objectives, and tactical action steps of the Vision Plan itself. Lastly, phase three will consist of the implementation guidelines that will include timelines, assign tasks, estimate costs, identify funding sources, and provide tools to track the progress of the Vision Plan.

Be sure to submit any and all thoughts and opinions you may have HERE before May 2.
