Potential Suspension of Planning Commission

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is considering suspending its five-member planning commission.  District 1 County Commissioner Pete Amos authored the proposal to suspend the body as a cost saving measure.  According to Amos, this move could save the county approximately $35,000 a year.  The motion to take this matter before two public hearings passed 3-2 during a county commission work session. Commissioners Amos, Patrick Bell and Brian Tam voted in favor of the motion while Jim Boff and Todd Levent opposed it.  The public hearings have not been scheduled yet.
