At a special called meeting of the Peachtree Corners City Council, the Mayor and Council unanimously voted and agreed to lift the current moratorium that has been in place since May 1, in what had become a controversial decision by the new city. Mayor Mike Mason had repeatedly stated that “The moratorium was designed to provide a stable and orderly transition of planning and zoning services from Gwinnett County to Peachtree Corners.” The Council for Quality Growth met with Mayor Mason and explained our concerns regarding the moratorium and even had the Mayor as a guest at our Gwinnett Advisory Committee meetings here at the Council headquarters in June.
