On February 5th, the Forsyth County BOC approved several changes to the Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan. This partial plan update includes the Map of Areas Requiring Special Attention with accompanying narrative. Quality Community Objectives Local Assessment with narrative, Identification of potential issues and opportunities and Policies were included as well. A proposed overlay identifying the Northwest portion of the County as an area where development might outpace the availability of community facilities and services was deleted by the BOC. Thanks to the hard work of Commissioner Patrick Bell, Council members, and property owners from the affected area, and with participation of the Planning Department, it was recognized that this overlay was unnecessary.
