Forsyth County approved a settlement agreement on October 22nd to acquire the privately-owned James Creek sewer facility from Waterscape services. The county commission voted to buy James Creek facility and all the infrastructure, contracts and rights for $2 million. The plant is permitted to treat 250,000 gallons of wastewater per day but has the capacity to handle about 1 million gallons per day through additional equipment. The sale is expected to close no later than December 17th. The county will hold a public hearing on the purchase at the first regular meeting in December. To read the Forsyth News article, click here.
