Propelled by Rock-Tenn, a Norcross based corrugated and consumer packaging production company, Georgia is now home to fifteen Fortune 500 companies, one more than in 2011.
Ranking at No. 449, Rock-Tenn joined the ranks of other Georgia based Fortune 500 companies with annual revenues of $5.4 Billion. Other Georgia gainers include Coca-Cola (No. 70 to No. 59), Delta (No. 88 to No.83), AGCO (No. 340 to No. 292), Coca-Cola Enterprises (No. 347 to No. 324) and NCR (No. 469 to No. 447). One notable slip was Home Depot, still leading the pack in Georgia, but falling from 2011’s No. 30 ranking to 2012’s No. 35 nationwide. The final thirteen companies in the running finished as follows:
No. 2: UPS (52), $53.1 billion; No. 3 Coca-Cola (59), $46.5 billion; No. 4.
