Forsyth Passes E-SPLOST

Forsyth County voters passed a special purpose local option sales tax for education on Tuesday, March 15th.  The final vote count was 5,376 votes to 1,339 votes.  Citizens approved a $195 million E-SPLOST that will go into effect in July 2012 and will be in place for five years.  $141 million will go toward 2005 an 2007 voter approved bonds and another $54 million will go toward capital improvements.  You can learn more about the E-SPLOST here.
