DeKalb County Announces New Interim Director of the Department of Planning and Sustainability

Gary Cornell has been appointed as the new DeKalb County interim Director of the Department of Planning and Sustainability by CEO Burrell Ellis.  Cornell has an extensive 33 years professional experience in planning including serving seven years as the Director of Gwinnett County’s Department of Planning and Development, seven years as a   principal transportation planner at the Atlanta Regional Commission, three years as planner in residence at Florida State University, and most recently eleven years as a senior community planning consultant for Jacobs Engineering.

Cornell will be replacing Andrew Baker who will return to his previous role as Associate Director of Planning and Sustainability.  The Council would like to congratulate Gary on his new role.
