On June 22nd, the Henry County Zoning Advisory Board held a public hearing on the proposed ordinance that would establish the Bruton Smith Parkway Design District. The Parkway is a major connection between McDonough and Hampton and is also a primary route between I-75 and Atlanta Motor Speedway; therefore, the County is proposing a design district to assure unified, quality development. The Advisory Board held a second public hearing on August 24th and voted to forward the ordinance to the BOC with no recommendation.
