The 2021 City of South Fulton Comprehensive Plan is the required plan update for the City of South Fulton which is due by October 31st, 2021. This update reassesses where the City of South Fulton stands today and how it intends to grow in the future by reaffirming the community visions, developing strategies for growth, and developing a work program designed to make that vision a reality. The first public meeting took place Tuesday May 18th at 6pm to gather feedback on community issues and the current plan strategies. The 2021 Comprehensive Plan process is broken apart into 3 phases described below. Followed by a transmittal hearing to formally submit the plan for State and Regional Comment. There is no specific action and the plan can be revised up to the adoption date, which is planned for October 31, 2021.
Phase 1: January – May 2021
- Phase 1 of the City of South Fulton Comprehensive Plan examines the issues and opportunities of the City of South Fulton. Plus examining how well the current Comprehensive Plan strategies from 2016 implement the vision for the City of South Fulton that was created in the 2020 City of South Fulton Strategic Plan.
Phase 2: June – July 2021
- Phase 2 of the City of South Fulton Comprehensive Plan reaffirms the vision and updates to the land use plan for the City of South Fulton.
Phase 3: July – August 2021
- Phase 3 of the City of South Fulton Comprehensive Plan develops the work program for the City of South Fulton to address the issues and opportunities and implements the vision and land use plan.
