City of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms Appoints Chief Operating Officer

On December 2, 2020, City of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced the appointment of Jon Keen, a former Major in the U.S. Army, as the city’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Keen has been the interim COO since Joshua Williams announced his resignation from the position in October. In 2018 Keen joined Mayor Bottoms Administration as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer. Before joining the Administration, Keen was a Manager for Deloitte Consulting and IBM Global Services.

Since joining the City, Keen has led development of the Mayor’s One Atlanta: Economic Mobility, Recovery, and Resiliency plan, focused on opportunity and growth for low-income households and small businesses. He was instrumental in the Mayor’s effort to provide historic pay raises to the Atlanta Police Department and is leading the City’s administration of CARES Act funding to bring relief to Atlantans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Jon’s leadership has been instrumental in implementing some of the City’s greatest accomplishments,” Bottoms said in a statement. “Jon’s focus and depth of knowledge will serve our communities well in the advancement of our One Atlanta agenda.”
