Cartersville Considers Increase in Building Height Requirements

At its regular meeting on December 21st, the Cartersville City Council introduced a text amendment to the City’s Zoning Ordinance that would increase the maximum building height requirements in commercial districts.  Currently, the height requirement is limited to 45-feet or approximately 3-1/2 stories.  The new regulations would allow for a 60-feet height requirement or approximately 4 stories.  The Council took no action on the matter at the meeting because it was the first reading.  The second reading and vote is expected at the City Council’s next meeting on January 4th, 2007.
