At its regular meeting on Thursday, April 5th, the City Council issued a 30-day moratorium on Change of Use application in the CBD along East Main Street from Ship Street west into downtown Canton. The purpose is to allow the City time to address and resolve legal disputes among residents in the area. The dispute arose from some residents’ concerns about the conversion of residential property into commercial uses in the area. The Council will continue to monitor the situation closely.
