Canton Eliminates Planning & Zoning Employees

On October 31, the City announced the lay-off of its two key planning and zoning officials, Gary Mullinix, the department’s director, and Stephanie Harmon, the Zoning Administrator.  On November 1st, the City Council voted to extend its service contract with Arcadis, Inc to include assistance in the operations of the department.  The program is now being headed up by Marie Garrett of Arcadis.
