On January 12th, the Cobb BOC voted to appoint its 2010 Vice Chair, a position that changes yearly. This year’s Vice Chair is important because he will have the honor of serving as Interim Chair when current Chairman Sam Olens resigns his seat to run for Attorney General. The new Vice Chair is District 4 Commissioner Woody Thompson. Commissioner Thompson will serve for three months until a special election is held for Chairman on July 20, 2010. Commissioner Thompson is not seeking the Chairman position on a permanent basis.
