Atlanta Beltline Purchases 3.2 Acres at Peachtree Road along Northwest Trail

Atlanta Beltline Inc. announced on August 26th that is had purchased a 6-parcel assemblage at the intersection of Peachtree Road and Bennett Street, along the Northwest Trail. This purchase completes a 3.2-acre assemblage after the Beltline purchased the closed Elleven45 lounge property last fall. Together the two purchases totaled $29 million for all nine parcels.

Clyde Higgs, President & CEO of Atlanta Beltline and Board Chair of the Council for Quality Growth for 2025, spoke of the desire for redevelopment on the site, saying “This acquisition lets us create a mixed-use development that serves the health care workers, employees, residents and small business owners who make this area thrive. We’re creating complete communities, where people can live near the services they need, such as doctors’ offices and grocery stores, and have options to live car-free.” The proximity to Piedmont Hospital in Buckhead will likely be a major focus of the redevelopment effort. The current buildings on site are vacant and will be prepared for demolition soon. Additionally, the Beltline team will be conducting community engagement with key stakeholders to develop a vision for the site.

Mayor Dickens also released a statement on the importance of the site’s purchase, saying “By securing affordable housing and commercial space in this neighborhood, we’re not just building trails. We’re building an inclusive city where working families can live, work and thrive in every neighborhood, including some of our most sought-after areas.”

The site sits just north of the Beltline Segment 2, which runs from Bobby Jones Golf Course and runs 0.7 miles along Colonial Hills Circle. The segment is currently in its final stages of real estate acquisitions. Meanwhile, Segment 1, which begins just east of the property line and runs 0.8 miles east towards Peachtree Creek, is under construction and is slated to be complete by the second quarter of 2026.
