On September 13th, the U.S. House of Representatives approved HR 2887. This bill would extend the funding for highways and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The highway funding portion of the bill extends funding from October 1st to March 2012. This is the 22nd FAA funding extension since 2007 when the long-term bill expired. This new extension will prevent a potential shutdown of the agency when the current extension expires at the end of this week. This new extension will last until the end of January 2012. The Senate is expected to vote on the bill later this week. You can read HR 2887 here.
