The Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District (MNGWPD) Governing Board proposed water conservation measures in response to Judge Magnuson’s ruling limiting the operation of Lake Lanier for water. A majority of the proposed changes will only affect those water systems dependent on the Chattahoochee and Lake Lanier. This includes all water systems in Cobb, Dekalb, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall and Fulton County (except Palmetto, College Park and East Point). Others are district wide. The MNGWPD voted recently to distribute the proposed changes to the plan for public comment. Comments were received between 9/17 and 10/22. The next MNGWPD Governing Board Meeting will be December 2nd at 10:00 am in the Allen S. Hardin Amphitheatre of the R. Charles Loudermilk Center for the Regional Community, 40 Courtland Street, Atlanta, GA.
