On Wednesday, March 25, the Council for Quality Growth hosted Cobb County Commissioner JoAnn Birrell at the March Cobb Advisory Committee meeting. Commissioner Birrell addressed more than 30 attendees about developments and redevelopments in her district, as well as the ‘Keep it in Cobb’ initiative.
Commissioner Birrell, who represents District 3, began her presentation by discussing the new developments in her district, which covers much of the Town Center area in Kennesaw. These developments include the establishments of a new Wal-Mart, Mt. Bethel School, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and several restaurants.
She then discussed the Canton Road Redevelopment Foundation’s work, which seeks to establish 17 properties, with 10 of these properties completed or currently under construction. Commissioner Birrell continued her presentation by discussing several Department of Transportation projects in her district, including the Chastain Road bridge replacement and the Noonday Trail link.
Commissioner Birrell also highlighted the ‘Keep it in Cobb’ initiative, which seeks to encourage residents, businesses and government officials to support local Cobb County businesses.
The Council would like to thank PSI for sponsoring lunch for this meeting.
