Creation of Office of Buildings Technical Advisory Committee

The Atlanta City Council unanimously passed the ordinance creating the Office of Buildings Technical Advisory Committee to oversee the Enterprise Fund.

The Advisory Committee is one of the benefits from the successful Council forQualityGrowth-drivenAtlantaBuildingPermit Reform last fall.  The Committee is composed of nine members appointed by the Mayor, with 7 of the appointments stemming from recommendations of interested stakeholder groups.  The groups who will provide their services include the Atlanta Apartment Association, the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association, and the Council for Quality Growth, the International Council of Shopping Centers Georgia, BOMA, the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and the American Council of Engineering Companies ofGeorgia.

The Committee will advise and make recommendations to the Mayor, the Commissioner of Planning and Community Development and the Director of Office of Buildings on service levels, procedures, fees and staffing.  The Committee will also communicate with stakeholders and provide insight into the permitting process, as well as monitoring revenues and expenses for the Office of Buildings Enterprise Fund.

The Council would like to thank the members who provided their assistance, including Scott Selig, Steve Roos, Kevin Curry and our affiliate partner Robert Broome.
