2007 BOC Strategic Planning Goals

Below is a copy of the BOC’s Strategic Goals for 2007.  Of particular interest is the Transportation, Planning & Development, and Law Departments.  Under Transportation the BOC is seeking proposed changes to development regulations regarding the construction of public street access and the initiation of a study of the county’s street light policies.  Under Planning & Development, the BOC has called for the implementation of the Matrix study recommendations, moving the Special Use Permits, Change in Conditions, and Buffer Reduction applications under ZBA’s control to free up the BOC to hear more re-zonings, consider reviving the R-140 Zoning category or establish a similar type of zoning as a transition method from smaller to larger lots, and working with the legislature to incorporate Transferable Development Rights study into state legislation.  Finally under Law, the BOC wants a comprehensive evaluation of Georgia and other states rental housing best practices- which is to be used to refine local regulations to improve property values.
