View Photos from the Council’s 37th Annual Meeting & Legislative Reception

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, the Council for Quality Growth hosted its 37th Annual Meeting & Legislative Reception, for the first time combining these two signature events.

Members of the Council were joined by legislators from around the region for a cocktail reception at the Cherokee Town & Country Club in Buckhead. In addition to ratifying and welcoming its 2023 Board of Directors, the Council presented its legislative priorities for the year to the Georgia General Assembly and local elected officials.

Mayor Andre Dickens welcomed attendees to the City of Atlanta, followed by brief remarks from State Senator Frank Ginn and State Representative Betsy Holland on behalf of their legislative bodies.

Outgoing Council Chairman, Albert G. Edwards, Founder & CEO of Corporate Environmental Risk Management (CERM), handed the gavel off to the 2023 Chairman, Rob Ross, Vice President of Kimley-Horn. The 2023 Vice Chair, Sally Riker, Partner at Lowe Engineers, presented the three primary buckets of legislation that the Council will continue to focus on in the coming year: Transportation, Water/Land Use/Environmental Regulation, and Economic Development/Job Creation. As Vice Chair of the Council, Riker will also serve as Chair of its 2023 Government Affairs Task Force.

The Council Cares annual charity fund also used the evening as an opportunity to raise money in support of our Board Member Emory Morsberger’s ongoing humanitarian effort to provide medical supplies to Ukraine. Thanks to all who participating in the fundraising effort. Donations are still being accepted here: lnkd.in/eu_kCike

The Council would like to thank all of our sponsors, partners, state officials, local leaders, and friends for joining us in conclusion of a terrific year. We look forward to what 2023 will bring. Happy Holidays to all!
