The Georgia Department of Transportation Issues Final RFP for I-75 and I-575 Toll Lanes

The Georgia Department of Transportation issued the final Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Interstate 75 and Interstate 575 Public-Private Partnership (P3) toll lane project on September 19th.  This project will include the addition of 18 miles of new lanes along I-75 from Akers Mill Road to just north of Hickory Grove Road as well as 11 miles of new lanes along I-575 and I-75 to Sixes Road.  These toll lanes are expected to relieve congestion for the 300,000 daily commuters on the Northwest Corridor of I-75.  Construction on this project will begin in Spring 2013 with a targeted completion date of Fall 2016.   

The deadline to submit responses to the RFP is set for February 3, 2012.  Currently, there are three teams that have qualified to submit responses to the RFP.  You can read the full press release here.
