The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority and the Department of Community Affairs awarded Paulding County a 40-year $29.1 million loan to fund the Richland Creek Reservoir. The total projected cost of the reservoir is $86.4 million. Paulding County will cover the remaining $57.3 million in funding. This loan was part of the Governor’s Water Supply Program which is providing $90.5 million in loans and $9 million in state direct investment for water supply projects throughout the state. Paulding County currently purchases water from the Cobb County Water System.
