Council for Quality Growth to Host 2025 State of MARTA Address featuring Collie Greenwood
500+ Expected for Exclusive Reveal of New MARTA Train Cars & General Manager & CEO’s Address
ATLANTA, GA – The Council for Quality Growth, in partnership with Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), will host the two-part program on January 30, 2025. The new MARTA train cars will be unveiled for the first time at 8:00 AM on the South Platform at Lindbergh Station followed by the 2025 State of MARTA Address at 9:15 AM at Uptown Atlanta directly across the street. The breakfast program, presented by Axis, VHB, and WSP, will feature update from the General Manager & CEO of MARTA, Collie Greenwood titled “Next Stop: The Future of Transit.” Over 500 Council for Quality Growth members, local elected officials, businesses, and partners of MARTA from across the region are expected to attend to hear Greenwood’s address and see the exclusive reveal of the new train cars.
The Council’s State of MARTA convenes the region’s business community with its local government bodies and other local leaders every other year. This is Collie Greenwood’s first State of MARTA address since being named General Manager & CEO in late 2022. Greenwood will address the metro Atlanta business community to highlight authority accomplishments and what’s in store for the future of transit in the region, in addition to the full fleet of new and updated train cars.
The Council for Quality Growth works with MARTA year-round to advocate for transit and mobility expansion across the region. “The Council supports transit expansion, investment, and added connectivity in this region,” said Michael Paris, President & CEO of the Council for Quality Growth. “We look forward to Collie’s vision for the future of transit, and we’re proud to support the work MARTA does daily to keep our region moving forward.”
The State of MARTA will also feature remarks from the Council’s 2025 Board Chair, Clyde Higgs, President & CEO of the Atlanta Beltline and MARTA Board Chair, Jennifer Ide, Chief Legal and Financial Officer at Rimidi, Inc. The program will also feature a video presentation from Axis, as well as sponsor remarks from Michael Carragher, Chair & CEO of VHB, and Jordan Myers, Senior Vice President and Georgia Transportation Business Lead of WSP.
Press are invited to attend with prior registration. RSVP to Kathryn Jones at KJ@councilforqualitygrowth.org.
