On December 30th, 2011 the Council lost a long-time member, supporter and friend—J.W. Benefield. A former Gwinnett County Schools superintendent, J.W. spent his latter years working passionately for the Gwinnett County Fair. J.W. received many accolades over his distinguished life; he was the Council’s 1992 Button Gwinnett Award recipient. To read more about J.W.’s life and accomplishments, click HERE.
