Forsyth County Public Input To Update Comprehensive Plan

Forsyth County has formally begun the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan which was adopted in July 2017, a document that addresses critical issues and opportunities within the County that incorporates a shared vision for the community’s future. Georgia requires communities to update their comprehensive plans every five years, including a reevaluation of needs and opportunities, preferred options for future land use as well as action steps to achieve community goals.

The process of updating the plan, known as Foster Forsyth 2022, is a 12-month planning effort that will culminate in a partial update to the County’s Comprehensive Plan. The process began with a public hearing held during the Oct. 21 Board of Commissioners meeting, which served to communicate the commencement of the process and outline the community engagement schedule.

Foster Forsyth 2022 will include three rounds of community input via in-person and online activities.

Community Survey

An online survey will help us cast a wide net and hear from the whole community on setting priorities for the next five years and the Survey will be launched in coordination with the December public meetings.

Map Input Tool

An interactive map will be used to learn the community’s development preferences. The map allows anyone to add markers with comments, and you can see where other comments have already been added by other community members. You can also interact with the existing comments by continuing the dialogue or using the “Like” or “Dislike” buttons. The map input tool will be launched in coordination with the December public meetings as well.
