Cobb County Board of Commissioners adopted the proposed code amendments, with a couple of exceptions, on February 24th. Exceptions include: signs for CIDs will be discussed on March 10th; election signs, off-premise signs, free standing ice machine signs, and all references to FAR will be discussed on March 24th. Council staff earlier voiced concerns over several sections that address gray water, accessory retail, and self storage facilities. Other code amendments include incentives for redevelopment of properties in several commercial corridors, reinspection of residential properties, incorporation of changes to the State’s plumbing code, burning of yard waste, setbacks from water and sewer easements, sewer availability, accessory retail, self storage facilities, and electronic signs.
