City of Duluth Puts Out Request for Qualifications for Two Downtown Areas

The city of Duluth has put out a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for two areas in downtown Duluth. The first area known as “The Block” will be developed into restaurants and retail. Some of the criteria the city requires for consideration of development are listed below:
  • Sustainable employment opportunities
  • Economic value through sales tax revenue
  • Unique restaurants with patio and/or rooftop dining options
  • Maintains integrity of pedestrian environment
The second area, known as the “Urban Residential Neighborhood” will be developed into a residential neighborhood that can include apartments, town homes, condominiums, or single family family homes.
Anyone wishing to apply for this development opportunity must attend a pre-submittal conference on May 21, 2013, and must submit responses to the RFQ by 4:00 p.m. on June 11, 2013.
