Austell Road Corridor Study

The Cobb DOT will host a public meeting on the Austell Road corridor at 5:30 PM on May 12th at the South Cobb Recreation Center.  Potential solutions to the access management issues along the corridor will be discussed and public input is needed.  Access mangement methods are designed to improve operational efficiency of roadways without adding lane capacity.

The county is promoting potential redevelopment opportunities in the area and is looking for ways to make the community more vibrant and safe.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, the Cobb DOT invites you to participate in the online survey.  Data gathered from the survey will be used to select priorities for enhancements in the corridor.  To express your ideas and opinions on the project, please visit the Cobb DOT Survey

(posted 6/24/10)Cobb County held a final meeting on June 21st to showcase the design characteristics to be featured for the Mableton area.  The design showcase was intended to show the public what a proposed redevelopment of the Mableton area would look like under a form based code.  Now, County staff will work to develop a form based code specifically for this area.  A code is scheduled to be adopted by early 2011.
