Town Center CID Announces Alisha Smith as New Director of Projects and Planning

The Town Center Community Improvement District (TCCID) announced today that it has hired Alisha Smith as Director of Projects and Planning. Smith will play an integral role in advancing the vision of the TCCID, helping to develop infrastructure and place-making projects that address transportation and quality of life needs for the Town Center community.

The TCCID consists of private sector stakeholders who invest through a self-imposed tax to protect and increase their property values. As Director of Projects and Planning, Smith will oversee the TCCID’s portfolio of projects and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure that these investments are managed wisely and achieved on time. The bulk of Smith’s responsibilities will rest in management of capital projects and community programs and planning.

Smith has worked in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Industry for almost 20 years on a variety of projects both nationally and internationally. Before joining the TCCID, she served as Infrastructure Project Design and Development Manager for ARCADIS, U.S., Inc. In their Atlanta office, she was often the lead project manager and consultant for the TCCID’s parks projects. At ARCADIS, Smith excelled in concept design and development, vetting new ideas and opportunities, project management and municipal program management. She also brings experience in creating proposals, graphic presentations, writing grants, marketing and communications, and managing funding sources. Smith is a 1998 University of Georgia graduate, where she earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from the School of Environmental Design.

“We are thrilled to have Alisha joining our team,” said Tracy Rathbone, Executive Director of the TCCID. “She will play a key role in capturing the momentum of our community by helping to develop new projects that make Town Center a high-quality destination where people can enjoy all aspects of life. Her creativity, experience and dedication will help ensure the CID and its initiatives have a lasting impact on the Town Center area.”

Smith is a Cobb County native who looks forward to contributing to her hometown in a meaningful way. “The Town Center CID is making huge strides in development and I look forward to working with such a determined team on a dynamic portfolio of projects,” Smith said. “This position will allow me to help execute the CID’s exciting vision for the surrounding community.”
