Founded in 1995 on the belief that everyone deserves a chance to succeed, the East Lake Foundation collaborates with public and private organizations to offer the residents of East Lake opportunities to build a better future through education, affordable housing, job readiness and connections with the broader community.  This approach to building a strong community not only helps break the cycle of poverty, but creates a place where people of all ages and backgrounds choose to live.  

The East Lake neighborhood includes The Villages of East Lake, with both government-subsidized and market-rate apartments; Drew Charter School for grades Pre-K - 8; Sheltering Arms Early Education and Family Center; East Lake Family YMCA; and the Charlie Yates Golf Course, home of The First Tee® of East Lake. 

The East Lake Foundation develops and raises money for academic, enrichment, recreational, mentoring, summer and scholarship programs for the community's youth.  Your support makes these programs possible. 

• The First Tee® of East Lake provides golf and life skills instruction, as well as tournament and play opportunities, to more than 1,000 East Lake youth at the Charlie Yates Golf Course. 
  
• After School Program at Drew Charter School provides almost 300 students with tutoring and enrichment. 
  
• CREW Teens Program helps East Lake teens graduate from high school with a plan for continuing success in college, technical school or career.  The program's comprehensive approach includes academic support, college readiness and community service. 
  
• East Lake Summer Day Camp is a stimulating seven-week program that includes academic, recreational and social components.
  
• College Scholarships have been established for Drew alumni and neighborhood high school students.
